We are an active part of God's story in this world. We are given the mission of going to the ends of the earth and telling people about forgiveness in Jesus death and live with God through his resurrection.
They gave up everything to find treasure.
So seeking implies a commitment, perhaps even an obsession, but that still does not answer the question, what does it mean to seek the things above. To discover that, I would encourage you to take 10 minutes of quiet with your journal and pen. What are the priorities of heaven?
God's Word lays the standard for what I'm supposed to be doing. He wants me teaching them about Him. That is what He cares about. Think about the thousands of opportunities we have everyday to share with our children about God's goodness, grace, mercy, His creativeness, power, might, love. The list is unending.
